KINAWLEY COMMUNITY HALL PROJECT GETS €16,000 SPONSORSHIP FROM QUINN INSURANCE

The annual QUINN-Insurance PGA Charity Trophy was held at the Slieve Russell on the 18th and 19 May. This is an annual charity event sponsored each year by QUINN-Insurance in association with the PGA and is now in its 13th year. In Pro-Am event sees professional and amateur golfers from all over Ireland participating over two days and two selected charities benefitting each year. This year the Kinawley Community Hall Association was chosen as the local benefiting charity and received €16,000 towards fund-raising for the hall project in Kinawley. Since the event was established, almost €500,000 has been donated by QUINN-Insurance to charitable causes throughout Ireland.
Speaking at the event the Association's chairperson; Kevin Lunney explained that the sponsorship is extremely important in the efforts to make the community hall a reality and the Association is deeply indebted to QUINN-Insurance and the QUINN-group for their huge support for the project. The event was hugely successful with 51 teams competing over two days and two charities benefitting. As well as the Kinawley Community Hall Association the other benefitting charity was COPE based in Galway who provide care for the homeless and underprivileged in the Galway area.
